Resumen
Hamás, primer movimiento islamista suní que participa y vence en unas elecciones libres y democráticas en Oriente Próximo, es ya un sujeto político que no puede ser ignorado en cualquier acuerdo político sobre Palestina. Controvertido, Hamás es un movimiento social, religioso y político que ha sido calificado como terrorista, como nacionalista palestino en lucha contra la ocupación israelí e incluso como aliado involuntario de Israel. Este artículo examina el movimiento en su contexto múltiple, con un énfasis especial en los desarrollos posteriores a su triunfo electoral en 2006.Citas
