Abstract

It is increasingly difficult to think about the world in which we live. The end of the century presents new challenges for the social sciences. One of the most important is to think our Latin American realities that while pass towards modernity, do so from contexts and experiences traditional anchors. If it is introduced to the ingredient of globalization, our ways of explaining reality attend and become more complex. Think different and contrasting the current realities in the crucible of globalization involves not only see the effects the process of global interconnection takes the forms of social organization of the economy, politics, culture, as if it were an added plus that is imposed from outside to local realities, especially the challenge is that Global is a transformation of the distance, an overvaluation of time over space, a reconfiguration of structuring processes of life and contemporary culture.
