Abstract
The gerontological literature has generally addressed the patterns of support from adult children to elderly parents from a contemporary perspective and limited to a single point in time (Bengtson, Kasshau and Ragan, 1985; Bengston and Treas, 1980 , Shanas, 1979; Antonucci, 1990; Cicirelli, 1981) These studies rarely asked question of how this relationship of care during the course of life formed with certain exceptions, contemporary studies of intergenerational support have not analyzed. how to change the support of adult children over time, nor have children caregivers considered within the context of their historical and social times.Downloads
