Abstract

While the debate on the relationship between population and environment takes at least two decades, there are still simplistic positions that tend to identify certain linear relationships between these factors. Global nature Some approaches, which are not considered regional and social differences establish a cumulative causal loop between population, poverty and environmental degradation. According to this logic, we tend to accept the idea that population growth is the main cause of environmental degradation, and the latter, the cause of rural poverty.
