Abstract

This paper discusses the assessment and perception give to education by families in the State of Mexico. We aim to answer questions such as what is education for, what is its value in the context of Mexiquenses families today, why do they send children to school, how does the type family intermediate opportunities for education access, what is the impact of the family on the possibilities and features of the educational participation of its members. The analysis is based on the study of in-depth interviews in the State of Mexico and secondary data on investment and spending on education by Mexican families.
