La sociedad civil en México. Una breve historia conceptual
Abstract
This article analyzes both the changing meanings the concept of civil society has adopted in Mexico in the last three decades and the role it plays to-day in the struggle for democratic construction. The main collective learning has been that civil society is as plural and heterogeneous as society itself, and that civil society cannot be understood without taking into account its complex and constant interaction with the State. The concept of civil society is the foundation of a vast conceptual family that analyzes the relationships between society and State in the process of democratization.
