Las ciudades europeas ante el reto del envejecimiento: fortalecer políticas urbanas y agenda social

Abstract

The ageing of the population has become one of the great challenges of the present and future. Greater longevity implies opportunities and challenges to be addressed from an interdisciplinary and plural approach since it has repercussions in all institutional spaces, especially the local one. The objective of this article is to expose the results of the study of eight European cities and present one of the experiences studied: the case of Barcelona and the new territorialized and community social model, which exemplifies the need to articulate and strengthen the social agenda and the urban.
