Jóvenes, apropiación y socialización de la información política en un contexto electoral
Abstract
This article shares the results of an anthropological investigation into the consumption, appropriation, and socialization of political information among young people in the context of the 2019 presidential elections in Uruguay. The methodological strategy combined face-to-face interviews with follow-ups using the WhatsApp social network. Among the findings, it is highlighted that these practices occur within a dense network of localized spaces and sociability networks that go beyond social-digital networks; traditional media play a key role in verifying and validating news, and, in the face of ideological polarization, most young people do not post comments or adhere to any of the extremes of the controversy.
