Abstract
This paper examines the process undergone in order to preserve what is known today as the Historical Archive of the National Institute of Migration. It studies the legislative process that enabled the Archive’s restoration, as well as the legal and administrative obstacles that have hampered its availability for academic research. It also analyzes the characteristics of the documental sources and explains their thematic classification. Finally, it outlines a research agenda focused on a broad universe of sources that will allow a reexamination of the history of migration in Mexico.Downloads
