Abstract
The 2006 general election in Jalisco, which resulted in the reelection of the incumbent par ty for a third consecutive term, played a decisive role in the presidential election. This paper analyzes the campaigns, the slander tactics, the polls, the parties’ expenditures and the legal challenges filed against the official results. It also highlights the par- tial recount of the presidential election and deals with Mexico’s severe electoral crisis from a regional standpoint.Downloads
