Abstract

On July the 2nd 2006, different electoral processes were held in Querétaro. Without a doubt, the presidential election drew most of the attention and imposed its logic on the rest of the races, opening spaces for the emergence of attractive movements, such as a statewide center-left trend, as well as the consolidation of the PAN (Partido Acción Nacional). This paper identifies the main changes in the voting patterns that altered the trends established in 1997 and 2003. It also offers an analysis based in the concurrent election and studies the results of the different types and levels of elections that took place.
