Abstract

We analyze the results and scope of the project “The Brasis and Their Memories”, which sought to create a space for the construction of new interpretations of people and facts from the past and contemporary times, as well as to produce new sources for historical research from indigenous narratives. More than 200 biographies were produced, and those are an instrument to legitimize systematic silenced memories about national formation.

The project website, <http://osbrasisesuasmemorias.com.br/>, is now an important didactic tool for basic education schools and indigenous students in higher education, today more than 50 000.
