Abstract

The nineties, a time in which the cross-cultural meaning of "historicity" became candante topic within anthropological theory, alternated some basics of ethnohistorical vocation. How much cultural variation between the various concepts of time and change? To what extent these differences govern the historical performance of the people? Contemplating such questions, the discussion of ethnohistory teóricodentro position turned methodological critique of heuristic leadership wherever it is aimed to investigate the stories of the "other." Although Oceania was the place that took the lead during the famous debate between Sahlins and Obeyesekere, Andean and Amazonian scholars contributed no less creative contributions.
