Desacatos’ fundamental objective is to be a novel publishing space that has room for interdisciplinary dialogue to establish a constant discussion between specialists from different areas of anthropological knowledge and related sciences. Its intention is to privilege guidelines of contemporary reflection and make way for dissertations framed in disciplines that deal with human being and society, culture and historical processes, with an innovative vision in empirical and theoretical terms.

The journal intends to be a convergence forum in which controversy around interpretations and theoretical aspects relevant to social sciences is valued and, simultaneously, constitutes an agency that encourages and calls for discussion of in depth ideas, with the most careful discussion form possible.
